You are invited to participate in a research study. To participate, you must be 18 years or older, enrolled in or having graduated from a currently CACREP accredited Counseling Program, and have fully completed the practicum class requirements by the time of engagement with this survey.
Things you should know: • The purpose of the study is to explore the descriptions of practicum and internship experiences with sites, supervisors, and clients. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. This will take approximately 15-20 minutes. • There are no expected direct benefits to the subject. • Taking part in this research project is voluntary. You do not have to participate, and you can stop at any time.
Please read this entire form and ask questions before deciding whether to participate in this research. The purpose of the study is to explore the types of experiences CACREP counseling students have at their practicum and internship sites.
If you agree to be in this study, I will ask you to do the following: 1. Participate in an online, anonymous survey that will take no more than 30 minutes. Participants should not expect a direct benefit from participating in this study. Benefits to society include providing data and insight into the current practicum and internship experiences that master’s level counseling students are having, leading to better insight and practices in this area. The expected risks from participating in this study are minimal, which means they are equal to the risks you would encounter in everyday life. The records of this study will be kept private. Research records will be stored securely, and only the researcher will have access to the records. • Participant responses will be anonymous. • Data will be stored on a password-locked computer and in a password-locked database. The researcher will have access to the data. After three years, all electronic records will be deleted. Participants will have an opportunity to be compensated for participating in this study.
After the completion of the survey, participants will be entered into a drawing for one of 3- $20 Amazon gift card. At the end of the survey, each participant will have choice to follow a link to an additional one question survey to provide their email address to be entered into the drawing. This link will be used only for email addresses and will store each email address separate from the answers provided in the earlier survey in order to maintain anonymity.
Participation in this study is voluntary. Your decision whether to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Liberty University. If you decide to participate, you are free not to answer any question or withdraw at any time before submitting the survey without affecting those relationships. If you choose to withdraw from the study, please exit the survey and close your internet browser. Your responses will not be recorded or included in the study.
